Yesterday we completed the second, last training on Employability skills in tourism, provided under the NESET project by the Cluster for Information Provision of the Black Sea Tourism Business.
Our balance sheet so far: 65 young people trained in Social and Communication Skills and 20 young people trained in Employability skills in tourism. We managed to conduct all the trainings in person, because we rely not only on the transferred knowledge, but also on the established networks and contacts for mutual support and friendship. The Cluster for Information Support of the Black Sea Tourism Business thanks its dedicated lecturers Tihomir Videv and Boris Bozveliev, who made the training an exciting experience for all participants. We wish all our "graduates" a successful career development in tourism in Burgas and in Europe!

On 12.09.2020 ended the first training on Employability skills in tourism, provided under the NESET project by the Cluster for Information Provision of the Black Sea Tourism Business. Ten young people, already trained in Social and Communication Skills, also had the opportunity to develop their skills for teamwork, problem solving, time and stress management and customer service. Accompanying them in this journey was Boris Bozveliev PhD, who did everything possible to unleash the potential of each participant and to motivate young people out of employment, education or training to dream of career development in the field of tourism.

On the 1st of August was finalized the last edition of the pilot training "Social and communication skills", developed and implemented in the framework of the project „NEETs’ Empowerment for Sustainable Employment in the Tourism Sector (NESET)“. The NESET project benefits from a € 1 124 551 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants. The aim of the project is to support on a large-scale transnational basis the sustainability of youth integration in the tourism industry, by creating conditions for NEETs’ employment and entrepreneurship in various forms of tourism.
In the four seminars held so far, a total of 65 participants improved their social and communication skills. From here, they split into 3 groups and each group continues with one of the following trainings developed for them under the NESET project: Employability skills in tourism, Entrepreneurship or Validation of already developed skills in tourism.

The training in social and communication skills in the framework of the NESET project was held for the third time July 22 to 25 in the classrooms of the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov “ – Burgas.

We already have a second group of graduates of our training in social and communication skills! The training seminar was held from 15 to 18 July in the University “Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov” – Burgas and under the guidance of Tihomir Videv,. The training materials developed under the NESET project have once again proved their high quality and potential to motivate young people to seek opportunities for development in the field of tourism. The participants evaluate them as useful and relevant not only for all those who are planning a career in tourism, but also for those already employed in this field.

As part of the NESET project activities, the provision of a series of pilot trainings for building / validation of tourism-related social and communication skills, Employability skills and Entrepreneurial skills. In Bulgaria, the Cluster for IT support to the Black Sea touristic business will hold seminars on Social and Communication Skills and Tourism Employability Skills. The first group of 15 young people not in employment, education or training went through the first training workshop on social and communication skills. The training took place in the community center "Far" in Burgas in compliance with all requirements of the health authorities in connection with the epidemic of Kovid-19. Guided by Tihomir Videv, PhD student and lecturer at Burgas Free University, for 4 days young people listened, discussed, participated in role-playing games, argued, had fun and learned skills that will help them find sustainable realization in the tourism sector. During the training, all participants were offered lunch and coffee breaks.

On September 27-28, 2019, the Tourism days in Bulgaria, the Cluster for IT support to the Black Sea touristic business, partner in the project “NEETs’ Empowerment for Sustainable Employment in the Tourism Sector” (NESET), organized a national information event. The NESET project benefits from a € 1 124 551 grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. The aim of the project is to support on a large-scale transnational basis the sustainability of youth integration in the tourism industry, by creating conditions for NEETs’ employment and entrep reneurship in various forms of tourism.
The conference took place in the beautiful town of Sozopol, near Burgas, and was focused on three main topics:
- Presentation of the results of the surveys among young people and employers in the Tourism Industry in Bulgaria on the Skills Mismatches and Workforce Shortages of Young People in the sector.
- Introducing participants to good practices of young entrepreneurs in tourism.
- Presenting new software products for overall hotels and restaurants management.
The second day of the conference was dedicated to face-to-face meetings between young people – mostly NEETs, but also students at and alumni of the tourism department of “Asen Zlatarov University” in Burgas, tourism managers, would-be entrepreneurs and young employees on one side and employers and members of tourist association in the region on the other.
The conference was honoured by representatives of the two biggest and most influential tourism chambers in the region – in Varna and Burgas, the teaching body and the management the tourism department the tourism department of “Asen Zlatarov University” in Burgas, different NGOs and employers.
